Bareboat charter Tourist tax. This was previously collected by the marinas and harbours each night that you stayed with them. From 1 st January 2009 the responsibility has now been shifted on to the charter companies to collect this tax on behalf of the government. You will be asked by the company you charter your bareboat yacht from for this tax before you set sail. The rate of tax remains unchanged at 7 Kuna per person per night for the over those over 18. It is 3.5 Kuna for the 12 -18 year olds and not applicable to the under 12's. Make sure you get a receipt for your tourist tax as you may be asked to produce proof of payment on leaving the country.
Sunday opening. New Sunday trading laws will effect yachtsmen hoping to provision their yachts this season. Effectively all shops and markets are now closed on Sundays with few exceptions ( Fuel stations and Bakeries being welcome ones). This does not apply to the coast during summer peak season 1 st July until 30 th September.
